Seoul Hanyoung University is located in Guro District - the southwestern gateway of Seoul, a 20-minute drive from the capital city center. Guro is loved by international students because of its lower living costs than the average in Seoul and abundant opportunities for part-time jobs.

Seoul Hanyoung University was founded by Dr. Han Young-cheol in 1970. The school was officially recognized by the Korean Ministry of Education in 1981.

After half a century of construction and development, HYTU is now a typical university in Guro District. In 2018, the school was awarded the title of 'Quality University' by the Korean Ministry of Education.

Currently, Seoul Hanyoung consists of 6 undergraduate faculties and 4 graduate schools. HYTU actively engages in international exchanges, student exchanges with universities in the United States and 1 university in Canada.
