Tongmyong University ranks No. 1 in admission competition rate in the Busan area. For two consecutive years from 2013-2014, Tongmyong ranked No. 1 in employment rate among private universities in the Busan area and ranked No. 3 in Korea.

Most notably, Tongmyong is considered the world's meditation center. The school has the only meditation center among 380 universities in Korea, with an area of about 800m2 including a gym, tea room, bathroom, and locker room.
